Humanist photographer Robert Frank (Trolley, New Orleans) was interested in the humanity present in every situation, from walking in the street to travelling on public transport.

Travel in artistic photography

As the saying goes, it's all about the journey not the destination. Because travelling is an adventure in itself. The people we meet on the road and whilst moving from one place to another force us to look at the world in a new light. Transport is a favoured subject of photographers, and trains, boats, cars and planes are all synonymous with journey photography.
