In Charlotte Rêvasse’s drawings, there is always an influence linked to the surrealist movement. The game, the black humour, the deployment of inks as a source of creation and ideas, the animal and plant presence reflect this state of mind.
What she likes above all is to give a "second life" to the images that invade our daily lives in order to "magnify" banal moments that we all know but which, through the transience of our lives, escape us. From this, Charlotte Rêvasse tries to create a universe between dream and reality. Between life and death. Animality and Humanity. Everything is mixed, violent and tamed.
Play and sometimes grating humour play an important role in his work. Nothing is ever really innocent. Currently, Charlotte Rêvasse is working on a series of drawings on the theme of pregnancy and sexuality. A universal theme that she wishes to "illustrate" according to her own vision.
