Between the raw material and the sophistication of a figurative arrangement, my works suggest. This objective, which drives me, has guided my research for many years.
After a childhood nourished by various artists and the quatrocentto, a more modern era, nourished by oriental and African art, my work turned towards the production of acrylic canvases, in search of a fair balance between the figurative and the abstract, each canvas readable as a dreamlike representation of everyday reality and as a self-sufficient coloured composition, capable of generating dreams. My work then evolved into a hand-to-hand combat with the canvas, pigments, aerosols, sand, gold leaves..., scarifying a plane that became volume, stratum after stratum. I now work mainly in watercolour where lights, partitions, sometimes even cut-outs, replace the thickness of the material.
"Through my productions, the viewer can always refer to a reality, although sometimes it is not the same one that emerges. However, the latter is sometimes submerged, for those who let themselves be taken by a wave of sensations, offered by the incessant journey of the mind, from the figurative to an almost abstract one. "It makes sense - it’s nothing." Patrice Garachon
