Diane De Sein Leger, was born in France, in Lille. She has carried out scientific and human anatomy studies that will lead her to a close collaboration with the CNRS, where she will mainly work on the bodies of great apes. In addition to her passion for animal and human morphology, she cultivates a particular relationship with art by trying to stage plays, write, paint and finally sculpt. To create, model, shape, give meaning to form by transforming the material: this is his quest. In 2010, she decided to focus mainly on her work in 3 dimensions in order to better explore the geometric properties of volumes. His favourite materials are concrete, ceramics and bronze, as shown in previous exhibitions. His sculptures are sometimes serrated, sometimes sensual, but always exude a sense of movement and strength. They evoke both mental and tactile palpation. If power and energy emerge from his artistic subjects, it is to better embody the unconscious resources of each person.
18 to 29 years old: scientific studies and obtaining a doctorate, a certificate in anatomy, a certificate in ethics and a scientific DU. At the same time: creation of a theatre company, Acrylic and wax paintings.
30 to 39 years old: obtaining a DEA in biomorphology (memory of comparative anatomy of humans and great apes) and a scientific IUD. At the same time: training in plastic art at the Beaux Arts de Paris and first training in modelling.
From 40 years old to today: continuation of training in 2 shared workshops (ceramics, plaster techniques, training in moulds, patinas, enamels, engobes, theoretical training in art foundry techniques). / In an individual workshop, beginning of polystyrene work and beginning of research for monumental sculpture creations / Beginning of collaboration with an art foundryman from Burkina Faso / Continuation, on a voluntary basis, of work in paleontology with the CNRS.
