After a solid artistic education at the Beaux-Arts of Clermont-Ferrand and then at the Beaux-Arts of Toulon, which culminated in the congratulations of the juries, Adrien Porcu Deiana participated in numerous exhibitions, noticed by the greatest artists. From the beginning, the artist sought to establish new relationships with art, renounced what came too easily and, diversifying the media, distinguished himself by his capacity for invention. In his studio, the carefully thought-out forms await the stop on their support, in outbursts of calm or anxiety. Abstractions or not, fluidities, mixtures and temporary abandonments... What will these forms be? Thick, black lines? Striated lines? Velvety puddles? Free and lively flows? The hand runs on the support, flies over it, twirls, lingers on ultimate tones or touches quivering voids... First there is the support, more or less smooth, the eye tracking the slightest roughness, the ingratitude of a surface where the line pulsates in the possible shapes to be born, and in the will to contain the desire for ink, the easy glare. Then comes the enigmatic implementation of a first sentence just graphic, in the ambiguous sense. Then, the pigmentary mass seems to let itself be spread, erased, taken up, fixed until it fills the frame with intertwined tones, saturated it with a soft and light veil, or reserved with virgin bliss. In the workshop, time flows and is exercised in the presence of the material. The ink vials are discussed in a messy patient. A few studies linger on the table, marked by previous work. In the studio, the artist’s breath and gesture continue the dialogue of forms, whites, unfinished, repetitions, refusals, ironic flat tints. An attentive silence is the grammar of the place. Only the gaze can embrace the intensity of a requirement, the reserve of a secret violence, the intimacy of a rigour. The artist’s. Create to forget yourself? Forget yourself to create? The place of the gesture is first and foremost that of mystery. Because Adrien Porcu Deiana does not only draw, and the diversity of his works underlines the extent of his research and creativity. Because he sometimes seems to experiment his work in drawing and painting on the object in three dimensions, in a new treatment of volumes and shapes, in a new way of caring for the different planes. His sculpture then becomes like a drawing in space, assembling various materials, playing on their inertia or dynamism, diverting objects from reality from their primary function and meaning...[...] Didn’t Albert Camus say that "The work of art is born from the renunciation of intelligence to reason the concrete"?
