Franck Chambrun was born in 1970 in Argenteuil, Val d’Oise has lived and worked in Saint-Brieuc since 1997.
The framing of an image - the space of a production - offers the frozen vision of an instant, the fragmented preview of a larger whole. The format circumscribes a moment that is part of a larger movement, a continuity defined in space and time.
Extending or stretching the proposal beyond a standardised framework must make it possible to understand a larger space, a temporal sequence and the perception of movement. We evolve in a changing and enveloping reality.
Our perception is designed for a three-dimensional environment. Restricting one’s field of intervention in a limited format reduces our experience, encloses in the moment, freezes in the space of a framing. It is a question of extending or dilating the format, even if it means fragmenting it, even if it means that its complete perception is impossible in a single glance restricted to our visual field, or even if it means that the possibilities of exposure force fragmentation.
