For Hervé Perdriel, photography is material, a way to work in a plastic, pictorial manner, closer to a work on images than just a work on photography. Images which are often selected in various sources, are cropped, cut out and reconstituted; scales and shades are modified, pictures are juxtaposed. Doing this, the artist writes another photographic language whose vocabulary is like that of a painter. It focuses on composition, shape, color, pattern, and also abstraction or narration.
Hervé Perdriel was born in Paris (France), in 1972.
His work has been shown regularly in solo or collective exhibitions since 2006. He lives and works in Paris, France.
