Orléans (45), France
Born in Casablanca in 1931 into a family of industrialists, Enrique Perez discovered painting during his holidays in Spain, at the Prado Museum. He was about ten years old, and nothing until now has been more important to him than drawing, painting and engraving. Rembrandt, then Bacon will have been his two masters. He has always sought composition and movement in his work: two absolute anchors for him. If each painter has his own light, noon is his own, with its clear shadows. His curiosity for the mythological narrative, his attentive reading of Yung, his long exposure to Bach’s music are reflected in all his work.
