Clamart (92), France
Since the age of 60, following a career as an engineer, Françoise Faucher has been passionate about sculpture. It is rather attracted by the contact with stone, Carrara marble, alabaster, serpentine, limestone or soapstone but also soft or much harder wood such as Cuban mahogany or boxwood.
This year she made a sculpture in carrara marble by first creating a small clay sketch. Françoise Faucher studies lines and shapes in modelling exercises on living models. From time to time she makes it into a more accomplished sculpture from which she can have a resin or bronze fired.
The lost wax work allows him to make some bronze sculptures more quickly but often restricted to the single piece.
In October 2017, Françoise Faucher received the sculpture prize of the Géant-des-beaux-Arts for an abstract alabaster sculpture at the ADAC exhibition in Chatillon.
