Saint Léger En Yvelines (78), France
Originally from Alsace and currently living near Paris, Géraldine Morales had not left in life to become a painter. With her doctorate in chemistry in her pocket, she could have started a promising research career, but it was without job prospects because of frequent moves that she turned to painting.
Self-taught, she started with watercolour, and then moved on to pastel before discovering the more sensual oil painting: a real favourite. Through her initial training, she combines science and feelings in each creation.
His painting is in perpetual evolution as well as the choice of his themes (still life, landscape, animals, ...). She draws her inspiration mainly from nature. She paints in her studio or outdoors mainly on the "alla prima" motif and prefers square formats.
Géraldine Morales begins her paintings by working the masses with large strokes requiring ample and accurate gestures. She ends by specifying a few details to bring out the essentials. She seeks above all the light in her paintings by preparing her palette well, and by working on the balance of her values and contrasts.
Throughout her work, Géraldine Morales strives not to dirty her tones by using different brushes for each value. She uses flat tints and fades to create harmony and sensitivity in her paintings. She is not looking for hyperrealism but rather a dynamic to her painting so that it is spontaneous and alive. His art is figurative, marked by the desire to show all that is beautiful and restful in this world.
