SAINT DENIS (93), France
Eva & Sir were born in 1984 and form since 2009 a duo of artists, called "street artists".
Sir, self-taught, starts with graffiti and starts painting in disused places at a young age. He then developed a passion for stencilling and exploiting the motif.
While Eva moves towards a more academic course in art school, she concentrates on the study of the character in black and white. Two visual identities meet, realism in brush painting is linked to an urban graphic style in aerosol.
The duo, active in the streets internationally, with in situ paintings, collages or huge frescoes painted on the walls, is also productive in the studio with the realization of installations and paintings. Each of their interventions draws its strength from the assembly of their finds.
Wood, pieces of antique furniture, obsolete objects, papers... everything is conducive to telling stories. Their works draw on the effects of time, which they explore with nostalgia and leave a trace. The trace of memories. Figures, characters and motifs then make the material speak, give a breath of fresh air, a second life to summon the imagination.
This duo is exceptionally presenting their works on KAZoART as part of the Street Art Sale for Emmaus International.
Sir is self-taught; Eva went to art school.
