Born in Mont-Saint-Aignan, Roger BAILLEUL practiced drawing at a very young age before feeling concerned by perspective, hence this practice of a state-of-the-art realism, close to hyper, but with this more sensitive and seductive manner. He proved the extent of his talent in many regional exhibitions, at the Artistes Hospitaliers as well as at the Indépendants Normands where he offered to all the desire to discover in situ the admirable sites that he paints in all formats. Rarely have the old streets of Rouen benefited from such attention, thanks to the rigorous framing studied to bring out on canvas the meticulous detail and the appeal of these half-timbered houses that exult in beautiful colours. Under Roger BAILLEUL's attentive brush, the atmosphere is all the more present and the definition of the plans is absolutely sure. In addition, the artist dares to use new formats and draws an original vitality from them with his barges sitting firmly on the water. With this painter, it is a whole fascinating journey that his super realism brings, so much is he a master of his contrasts, of his effects of colours and lights, of his diabolical rural and urban perspectives whose enchantment overflows from the painting, and is engraved in the mind in persuasive journeys, true artistic spells.
