"Industrial landscapes, twilight on the streets, panoramas of cityscapes, browns, ''blue mood'' of the grey peripheral areas, all represented in an impeccable conical perspective and animated by sparkling lights, these are the favourite themes of Bianca Prettau's urban art. Perhaps because of less work on solid design projects, or simply because of her lifelong love of architecture, her basic profession, the artist's paintings aim to "build" in a quasi-conservative way, but this time on canvas. His works are sketches of streets, illuminated cities, houses, semi-abstract prints, on large canvases, literally painted with technical drawing tools. As a result, poetic, sometimes strange, sometimes nostalgic of urban spaces expressed with hazardous dynamics of lines, colours, brushstrokes, encapsulated in a well-defined framework of a representative drawing geometry, with "à la carte" rules, an atypical contemporary approach of a painting method. The effects are surprising, the antagonism between the apparent figurative immobility of the subject and its abstract vivacity, opens the interpretation of the observer's inner eye, simultaneously constrained by the perception of space. Somewhat fresh because of her recent transition from architecture to artistic practice, Bianca Prettau's art is becoming more and more interesting to follow in the panorama of contemporary art; she lives and works in Brussels, Belgium.
