Catherine Maddens was born in 1965 in Normandy. Her youth was marked by the Impressionists, an artistic movement much appreciated by her father, an amateur painter and sculptor, who passed on to her his love of painting. She lives in Paris. She has a degree in clinical psychology and initially thought of becoming an art therapist. She trained in Paris in graphic design and practiced this profession for 28 years, 16 of which were spent as a freelance artist at the Maison des Artistes. Her vocation as an artist, present since her adolescence, remains very present in her, and she paints when her work allows it. She realizes her dream from 2013, dedicating herself exclusively to Art. To share her love for abstract art, from 2012 to 2018, she gave monthly group painting classes to adults, to help them reconnect with their desire to create and the pleasure of painting.
