Born in 1960 in Algiers, Kuta left Algeria at the age of 16. She first settled in France and in 1984 obtained a diploma in ceramics from the School of Decorative Arts in Geneva. She then began a long period of travels with the International Committee of the Red Cross and Médecins Sans Frontières. After long stays in Africa and Asia, she chose to live in Aix-en-Provence in 1997 and to devote herself to sculpture. Her work is a travel diary, a tender look at the world.
