Blanquefort (33), France
Jean-Philippe Rauzet, born in 1953.
He wanted to become a pianist, play concertos on the grand black piano, but was nervous. Of the black piano, only the memory of inertia remains, its mass that resists and its ivory notes that parade and flee. Large canvases have replaced partitions. The staves and barlines have disappeared; All that remains is the chords, tones in place of sounds, the material against the harmonic density, the rhythm to measure or structure. The challenge remains the same: to organize the void, when the music nourishes the silence.
"I build walls, skies, I dig rivers, I accumulate strata and sediment for days, months, years."
Time no longer exists, the instant settles in over time. Islands of light, intertwined networks, superimposed textures ... Later, the flows stabilize, conflicts subside, a world takes root and is organized in the ocean of choices. Like music, which is only the invisible sound transport of the mind, my painting finds its balance below the image.
