OZA is an international artist who lives and works in France. She is an advocate for sustainable development, human rights, climate change and ecology, currently based in Paris. She studied fine arts, social sciences and art criticism at NAOMA (Ukraine), EHESS (France) and Charles University (Czech Republic).
OZA has worked all over the world (in Africa, Indonesia, Europe and Japan) and has applied her knowledge of abstract art, analog photography and sustainable development. In 2016, she was invited as a guest speaker, at the ITS in Surabaya (Indonesia) with over 5,000 participants; she worked as a freelance journalist in a relocation camp for Syrian refugees in Thessaloniki (Greece). In addition, she was selected as a UNESCO MIGIEP delegate for peace and sustainable development.
"I like when art is combative. My artistic intention is therefore to make people think, to provoke compassion, to awaken empathy and to transport those who look at the images across the planet and time. I approach all the art forms I practice (photography, painting, video production, drawing) as ways to draw attention to current social issues and stimulate reflection. Previously, I used to write about social issues as a social scientist - until I realized that art has a much more positive impact in raising awareness about important human values (love, harmony, consciousness) and social challenges such as sustainable development, education, cultural differences."
