Anany is an artist who creates stone. Announced in this way, it may seem surprising, even incongruous.
But what is the role of the artist if not to imitate nature, recreate reality and create a new world?
And what could be more extraordinary than this task of creating stone? To reveal a material, to reconstitute it and to restore it with artistic contemporary materials, that is the work of Anany.
The humanity of the first men expressed itself on stone. We still have the shocking and fascinating evidence of the cave paintings, including those of the Chauvet 2 cave.
The humanity of Anany is expressed not on stone but by creating stone, at the genesis of the world.
From a universal heritage, Anany transforms it into an abstract fragment, a metonymy, a part for the whole. Anany's stones remind us of the earthly mother matrix as well as of the Humanity translated in the works of the first Men.
This vital need for expression that inhabits the human being from the dawn of time fascinates Anany who strives to relive the mystery of Creation.
Stone contains life, the memory of the Earth as well as of Humanity. It is in the stone that the archaeologist, the scientist, the biologist, that every researcher finds an answer.
Here is the ideal that underlies the exceptional work of this artist who gives us to see a mise en abîme of creation.
Mixing at the same time cosmos, big-bang, memory, heritage, archaeological remains and fossils.
In Anany's work, light and color are "stacked", captured.
A concentrate of light in a piece of stone becomes a sparkling fresco where spirituality is linked to our Earth, as well as to the cosmos.
Anany is a "well trained" self-taught artist, born in a family of artists for several generations.
The artist ANANY realizes a Dream;
"A love encounter will definitely change my life; passion will transport me to a new life. Artist, adventurer in the soul and irresistibly attracted by the nature; the adventure begins! I realize this dream by leaving my hometown Brussels to settle in the south of Ardèche and open my first gallery and my workshop, at the edge of the natural reserve registered with the world heritage of UNESCO; the Gorges of Ardèche. My art is totally impregnated, it is a complete immersion which influences all my artistic universe such as the stones, the water, the colors... "
