An artist of instinct and of the moment, it is in her home studio on the banks of the Loire that Anaïs Frébeau imagines her paintings full of softness and lightness. Drawing her inspiration from the urban, cultural and graphic universe of the city of Nantes as well as from its rejuvenating forests and hillsides, she innovates and breaks the codes, through her collages, her messages and her brush dictated by the heart, all in subtlety, balance and nuance.
Seeing, feeling, transforming, touching the colors and feeling the light, this is what motivates Anaïs since always. Passionate about words and fond of colors, materials in their diversity (recycled paper, packaging, pieces of fabric found...) are treasures and a source of unlimited creation. She glues them on a canvas to see the textures change, to play with the transparencies, the brightness of acrylics, the authenticity of cardboard or the powdery aspect of pastel, all of which are richnesses that make ideas bounce from a color to a country, from a motif to a memory or from a trip to an object. A synesthesia which makes her alive and which gives all its joy to her creations.
With her series "Forêts de papier", Anaïs chooses to give back to the tree its original verticality by integrating strips of recycled paper to her paintings. The life cycle of the paper is completed and the tree finds its natural nobility through art in an eternity of beauty.
