Thibault Lepeudry is passionate about nature, abstraction and colour. His paintings occasionally feature silhouettes which bring a touch of humanity with a certain strangeness in the forms. The precision and finesse found in his layers of colour in some ways echo the Impressionist movement.
Thibault Lepeudry first began painting at the age of fourteen, copying the famous works of Monet, Sisley and Van Gogh. He then took classes on the basics of oil painting from a teacher with a keen interest in impressionism. At 17, he further honed his skills alongside Rouen painter Denis Godefroy, who later became his teacher.
Thibault Lepeudry is particularly inspired by the world around him. Nature and trees regularly feature in his work and he enjoys switching between reality and abstraction. Today Thibault Lepeudry works with watercolour, acrylic, Indian ink and oil pastels in a variety of mediums.
Music plays an important role in Thibault Lepeudry’s work, guiding and inspiring him during his moments of creativity, and both Chopin and Schumman’s influence can be seen in the artist’s contemplative pieces.
