Nicolas Ruelle

After studying letters and arts, Nicolas Ruelle first expressed himself through music by working as a composer, especially for French television. A natural extension of this experience, the discovery of painting allowed him to give shape to the musical visions he wore in him. He then found the ideal place to punctuate the space and express a personal lyric breath through the movement it is in 2008 that it began to be broadcast in galleries whether in France or abroad. His paintings have been exhibited since in Paris, Lyon, Strasbourg, Bordeaux, Dijon, Beaune, Ile d'Ieu, Grasse, Challans, Amsterdam, Brussels, Singapore. His paintings have found buyers from art lovers and collectors of 14 countries in the world. In a first stage of work, Nicolas Ruelle leaves the sculpted material. He seeks to bring up the light of matter with energetic and spontaneous gestures. The paint is then applied with knife and spatula and the patterns of the landscape tend towards abstraction. In a second more meditative phase, the artist uses brushes to soften the forms and diffuse light. The painting of Nicolas Ruelle is the search for a bridge between nature and intimate. The artist seeks to free himself from the strict representation of reality to go to the point and make the canvas this secret place where we can share our memories and our emotions. His canvases are thus common meditation landscapes, with the key themes of nature and its elements, the search for freedom.
