Eric Bonte was born in Paris in 1956.
After a scientific baccalaureate, he entered the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Appliqués et des Métiers d'Art, Olivier de Serres, in Paris.
The school provides a varied education: drawing, painting, interior architecture, space design, advertising, in addition to general subjects of languages and letters ... he chose in addition the stained glass speciality, for the infinite possibilities that he feels of a work related to the color, the light, the attraction for an artistic and technical approach at the same time.
As soon as he left school in 1979, he took over a workshop in Issy les Moulineaux.
Taking over a workshop was for him the way to lead a professional experience and a creative adventure at the same time. Artist and company manager, creator and manager, it is a question of giving himself the means to create, to express himself, to exist through his art.
During all these years he is entrusted with prestigious projects, for the Plaza Athénée, or the Raphael Hotel in Paris, for the headquarters of Cap Gémini Sogetti in Paris.
He becomes the glassmaker of Jean Bazaine, and realizes for him the stained glasses of the cathedral St Dié des Vosges, of the Chapel of St Guénolé Penmarch. He restored the stained glass windows of the church of St Séverin in Paris.
At the same time he participates in numerous exhibitions for personal creations.
Draughtsman, painter, master glassmaker, glass sculptor, Eric Bonte tries "to combine the thoughtful, patient, matured side of creation with the spontaneity of the moment in a sensitive and artistic synthesis. He contributes to the evolution of the art of stained glass.
