Jo Di Bona is a French street artist born on July 16, 1975 in Seine Saint-Denis. After a period of vandalism under the pseudonym Anoze in the 1990s and a musical period from 2000 to 2012 in the rock band Hotel, he returned to graffiti in 2013 by developing his own technique: pop graffiti.
In 2014, he won the 1st prize in the EDF Foundation1 graffiti competition. The following years, he multiplies projects and gains recognition in the French street art scene, exhibiting and participating in projects internationally.
In 2016, he made the front page of the New-York Times International with an article for his mural created as part of Wall of Love, located next to the restaurant Le Petit Cambodge, in response to the Paris attacks of November 13, 20152. In 2017, he was one of the first French street artists to be present and exhibit at the UN headquarters in New York as part of the Street-Art for Mankind3 festival.
In 2019, he becomes the sponsor of Murmurs, a festival organized by the community of Decazeville. He will be in charge of the programming with the help of his partner Amélie and will create four murals, one of which will be in collaboration with Astro (Astro ODV). This event is notable in the world of street-art in France for the year 20194.
Jo Di Bona is a committed artist, who displays his convictions in his works or through the projects in which he participates. In particular, he defends the values of the family by supporting Emmaus5, Secours Populaire6 and the Pièces jaunes7 operation. But he also takes up other current issues such as the Syrian migrant crisis8, the LGBT+ cause9, immigration10 or the women's cause11.
He works both on canvas in the studio and on large walls in the street. He produces numerous works and murals each year.
