Richard Vildeman paints, while simultaneously working on the creation of engravings and sculptures. Using various techniques ranging from painting to drawing, including stencils and writings, Richard Vildeman conceives his work as an assembly of graphic clues while in balance with a real painter's work of color. To do this, for many years he has been collecting images from the collective memory [archetypes], and [in the imagery of the world], in order to constitute a visual "encyclopedia". The artist selects fragments that he arranges so that, once put together, they "become bearers of symbols, of [unconscious] poetic meaning" or of commitment.
