Julie Mathevet mainly practices digital photography. Then, she often uses her images to build other plastic projects, in the fields of digital arts, video or installation.
"I defend a free and spontaneous practice of photography, as a tool of thought. I am particularly interested in nature, its organic forms, its details, as well as in light and the matter it confronts me with. The theme of memory is also very present in my work, it often connects with my approach to the digital matter of the image, which I exploit through digital manipulations or photomontages. In my opinion, photography always relates a sensitive experience of the world, in my case, particularly linked to an experience of space and nature."
