Artistic influences:
Originally from the Giverny region, he was immersed in the world of painting from an early age. Discovery of Claude MONET’s impressionism and work, first of all, and later of two great abstract artists living in this region: Joan MITCHELL in Vétheuil and Pierre TAL COAT in Saint-Pierre-de-Bailleul (Dormont)
. 3 other artists, through their artistic and spiritual research, have contributed to enriching his knowledge through their texts: Vassily KANDINSKY "From the spiritual to art", Paul KLEE "Theory of modern art" and Yves KLEIN "The overcoming of the problematic of art"
Since the 70s, he has received a traditional training in plastic and graphic arts in Paris.
The magazine "Les chroniques de l’art vivant" published from 1968 to 1975 allowed him to discover the work of young creation, at which time he carried out various experiments, including a performance in 1972 on the Champs Elysées: "universal love" for a positive awareness of humanity.
Towards an abstraction of transparencies:
It is by observing the projection of the colours of stained glass windows that form ephemeral abstract images that his interest in pure
light colour developed. 1980, he defined a theory on the 4 primordial colours of light and began to develop an abstract
pictorial work: light and its chromatic fields are only vibratory energies.
The transparent aspect of colours and its pictorial rendering are one of the important aspects of his work: bringing
transparency to colour means making it brighter and bringing white
light closer to its original state; the transparency of colour by superposition allows the transmutation of material colour into light
colour; his repertoire of forms is inspired by the often geometric primitive constructions found in nature.
Vibrations of colours and synchronicity:
The vibrations of transparent colours associated with a wide variety of geometric shapes trigger emotions and positive
energies on the viewer, and in his creative process he sometimes provokes chance to obtain "happy coincidences" (Carl Gustav JUNG calls this synchronicity which is found in various fields such as quantum physics and biology)
The world is in constant change, which encourages him to continue his plastic research towards new paths and supports
. However, it is also published on different media to allow access to as many people as possible: digital prints on paper, Subligraphy© on aluminium and digital
video animations, etc. His colourful works can be adapted to very large formats such as urban architectural packaging. In 2018, he created a mural for the Tourist Information Office in Giverny: "Le souffle d’Iris".
