I was born in Moscow in 1953. In 1981, having lost my Soviet nationality, I found myself, after a long stay in Italy, in Canada. With the Canadian passport I arrived in France in 1987 and settled there permanently. I obtained French nationality in 1993.
Trained at the Moscow School of Fine Arts, I then tried to get rid of some of the shackles of the russo-soviet school and to join the great European tradition coming from the Italian Renaissance to Balthus, passing through the Flemish masters, Poussin, Puvis de Chavannes...
Since 1995 permanently presented by Galerie Francis Barlier, Paris; since 2000 regularly exhibited at Galerie De Twi Pauwen, Den Haag, Netherlands; between 2001 and 2008 presented by Galleria Forni, Bologna, Italy. Numerous and regular participations in contemporary art fairs and exhibitions.
Nombreux prix et recompenses dont deux prix de l'Institut : Le Grand Prix de portrait 1995 et le Prix Dagnan-Bouvret en 2000 ; Médaille d'or au Salon des Artistes français en 1997 ; Prix Duc de Valverde au XXXII Salon d'Art Contemporain de Monte-Carlo en 1998 ; Grand Prix Fernand Gaurmon de la Fondation Taylor en 2015 ...et bien d'autres.
