Daum’s drawing work questions the boundaries between representation and abstraction, the place of illusion and surface as we understand them today.
Attention to light and its shadows is essential. The treatment of light makes the object oscillate between real and unreal. The sets of scales reduce large areas to small areas.
Daum finds her inspiration in various fields, both literary and scientific, and she questions them to bring out new spaces.
His preferred material is black stone, a material used since the Renaissance for its softness and precision
