Seloncourt (25), France
Claude Bellaton lives and works in Franche-Comté in Eastern France. He started painting as a child, studied under the direction of the painter and ceramist Paul Baillaud.
He undertook trips to Croatia, Israel, Italy where he was able to observe and study the works of Giotto and Caravaggio. Back in France, he worked with Daniel Robert, Salvador Dali’s private bronze artist for fifteen years, where he learned various pictorial and plastic techniques.
The word that comes to characterize this art is transparency. A very pure emotion emerges from such a work which has a pacifying virtue. Abstract structures or stylised characters, free forms or living dreams of a discreet and powerful symbolism, his works are marked by balance, sober composition, lively and contained sensitivity, finally a kind of hieraticism, probably involuntary, so much this work seems to spread from an all contemplative inspiration.
The Art of this artist is subtle and noble like his heart. Raphael Terjan. Professor of Philosophy. Art writer.
