PREVESSIN-MOENS (01), France
Artist born in 1976. Lives and works in France. “I see myself as an artist whose raison d’être is to provoke emotion through my works. I feel I have achieved this goal when I observe that my figurative works engage those looking at them. This means that I struck a chord with these people and, therefore, that I successfully interacted with others through my artwork. In my opinion, this phenomenon is essential in various artistic disciplines—music, for example; but, for me, the most natural way to express emotion is to give it life through visual art. Landscape and nude paintings are great ways to share emotion, nevertheless in order to give rise to stronger feelings like curiosity or surprise, I am actually working on the theme of strangeness. What better to engage the spectator than bizarre, monstrous, or spectral creatures?” Yann Marie Luquet
