The porosity and pull between the interior and exterior of a being or existence have always been at the heart of Villechab's work, whatever the medium, sculpture or volume, video or dramatisation.

Understanding each other through art

After graduating from the Ecole Nationale des Arts Décoratifs in Paris in 2014, where she studied scenography, Villechab began taking an interest in and experimenting with space, time and volume through a variety of mediums. Her history with sculpture, however, dates back to her childhood and is one that has never been on pause.

Villechab's sculptures are like the artist herself, representing open-minded, hyper-sensitive and in-demand beings. Her first film, Vitre (window pane), tells the story of a captive trying to absorb the things and people around it.

A social and artistic vocation

Villechab's work has been built little by little around this pull and other forms of dualities, inspired for many years by the works of Giacometti, then Germaine Richier, Niki de Saint Phalle and Modigliani.

In 2015, Villechab moved into social work in parallel to her career as a sculptor. She works as an art therapist and art performer with people suffering from degenerative diseases like Alzheimer's, those on the autism spectrum and minors under state care (centres, youth work associations). The social aspects of this work are intrinsically linked to the themes approached in her work as a sculptor.
