Ramonville Saint Agne (31), France
Hélène Pons’ painting oscillates between naturalistic representation and onirism. She is inspired by nature, which she paints mainly outdoors on the motif and engages in intense observation work to capture its smallest details. In a spirit of collage -even if there is never collage as such, everything is painted - she associates portraits or skies with these pieces of nature, which have a symbolic meaning for her. These shifts within the painting from figuration to gestural abstraction are like a permanent round trip between inner vision and physical reality: disturbing the visual cues of the spectator to enter a more symbolic dimension.
