La verdiere (83), France
For several years, Yann Argentin painted classic landscapes, before deciding to ban easels, in an effort to "let go" and hang his paintings directly on the wall. Spontaneity becomes his watchword. He replaces brushes with various and varied tools: rollers, spatulas, large knives. He abandons small paintings for larger formats. He paints in a fresh way in order to keep this spontaneity and to transcribe his emotions with authenticity, without false pretenses.
The treatment of light, of which he has a certain sensitivity, becomes his main objective. He opted for urban and industrial landscapes close to his personality. Urban subjects offer an unlimited playground for staging variations in natural or artificial light. A work in immersion in a materialistic and modern space where atmospheres lead to silent dreams; an urban poetry.
