Born in 1946, BAUGIER lives and works in Barjols en Provence. Artist painter listed on Artprice, he followed higher studies of Plastic Arts in Paris then was a certified teacher of Plastic Arts in the National Education for 40 years. He has had numerous exhibitions in France and abroad. His work gradually became abstract in the 1980s.
Baugier is constantly looking for new colour harmonies and shape combinations. The criticism of Jean VAUTRIN, writer and Goncourt Prize winner: "Marcel BAUGIER painted with carnal colours; he mixes the land of Provence with the requirements of construction, he is an architect of his thought and chromatically affective and this skilful mixture of rigour and sensuality are the basis of his know-how. He is a bit like the Matisse of abstraction. His maturity, palpable over the years, inevitably leads him to continue to explore the wastelands of his repeated experiences. Always in motion, his palette seeks to rest but he, like a gardener up to the end of his life, tries new sowing, traces new frames, idealizes other paths and the spectacle of his new advances always mobilizes me as much. I love the friend and I keep discovering the painter."
