Cucugnan (11), France
Originally from Nice, I began my training as a ceramist at the age of 17 (2000) and for me it was a revelation, I immediately felt that this way of expression corresponded to me... After settling in the Corbières, a land of wind and mysteries with which I fell in love, I opened my studio gallery (2006) in the former presbytery of the priest of Cucugnan, famous for "the letters of my mill" by Alphonse Daudet.
Although evolving in a place steeped in tradition and authenticity, my artistic identity has asserted itself in a contemporary and refined style. I draw my inspiration from different worlds with Scandinavian designs as well as Japanese and Korean ceramics as my main influences.
In constant research, I explore the balance of forms, the effects of matter, contrasts and textures. My creations are intended to bring poetry into everyday life, sublimating the moment through the object is my leitmotiv.
In my latest sculptures, I try to let the mineral, raw and original side of clay express itself, my hands thus playing the role of an accompanist in order to retain the "intention" of the material.
