Bettina Eberhaerd was born in Brussels in 1963, currently works and lives in Palalda in the Eastern Pyrenees. Self-taught visual artist practices drawing, painting before using photography and computer graphics.
She uses images that do not connect us to the world’s current events in what she has that is sensational, violent or event-driven. Away from such agitation, it creates another world, another reality, the essence of a dialogue with the living. Subtlety, assumed banality of the subject, purified images, are the results of a plastic work set up at the shooting, continued in the later phases, which gradually removes all references and speeches to install a world in itself renewed from series to series....
As an extension of photography, Bettina Eberhaerd is part of a digital art form. As in painting, his images are elaborated by a confrontation of "materials", from his "falling photos" or even his "failed photos", in successive and multiple layers, working with light, transparency and opacity. As an explorer, while questioning the environment, life and matter, she evolves from the subjective world.
