Norman Gekko is an artist who likes to parody the hypocrisy and excesses of Western culture. Most often, Gekko produces his works in series (series of "Beehives", "Dead planet" or "Choking hazard").
Gekko’s work contrasts with the modern world’s concern for material accumulation and the incessant assault on information, images, sounds and other stimuli that paralyze and impotent our psychological self. preferring to remain incognito, contemporary artist Norman Gekko swims against the current of "sharing" on social networks and the egotistical exhibitionism that dominates contemporary art. so, no nationality, no sex. For the artist, the choice of anonymity has only one function: to allow works to be contemplated without prejudice, thus giving them their rightful place in society. Gekko’s style is clear and simple: to create, through the trompe-l’oeil technique, a unique pictorial motif on a recurring monochrome background. The sculptures, although often seemingly playful, always provoke and strike visually, once you have seen a work by Norman Gekko, you cannot confuse it with another.
