I like to take in the fresh air, which is why it is more particularly around the landscape that my artistic approach develops.
If it has been more or less present throughout the history of art and treated in different ways according to the light of colour, form or matter, depending on the time it was painted, the landscape remains the identity of nature, an entity with which one cannot cheat. The "Inner Necessity" led me to bring it in before painting it. Rarely on the spot, my drawings and canvases are mainly worked on in the workshop and in series.
I let the water work for me, the pump, the sponge, the water run off. The hazards of the encounters of pigments on the canvas make me think that nature takes back its rights and guides (almost) only the result.
Since 2000, my paintings have been part of a process of sedimentation, of accumulation of lines that can lead us to think of successive horizons, of an endless landscape, of seashores at low tide where we can no longer distinguish the solid from the liquid or the gas.
