Jean Claude Carlet has been working as a potter for about twenty years, but his curiosity soon led him to sculpture and he created a foundry workshop. Surrounded by naturalists and ornithology enthusiasts in a generous natural setting on the edge of an estuary, creating birds in ceramics and then in bronze became an obvious choice. He does not seek to reproduce in an academic way the birds or animals he encounters, it is their curves and volumes that are a source of inspiration, always guided by the need to get closer to the essential.
