Painter and plastic artist Adam Aroyan enjoys exploring different techniques and materials. Working tirelessly day after day to complete his incredibly detailed paintings, he has created his own style, which he fills with strength and mystery.
Adam Aroyan was born in Yerevan, Armenia, in 1977. He spent his childhood at the foot of Mount Ararat, where legend says that Noah's ark ran aground. In his teenage years, he followed his parents to Moscow. Throughout his career, he has supported other artists, organising international exhibitions.
Not only did this interaction help hone his eye and develop his sensitivity, but it also awoke in him a desire to create. In 2004, after various trips to France, he decided to move there permanently. He left his job as a jurist and threw himself wholeheartedly into art.
Adam Aroyan's studio is a laboratory. Although he has successfully invented his own style, which allows him to express his feelings, he continues his research. There is no room for error, he uses his knife to apply every stroke of paint to the canvas with a watchmaker's precision. The slightest slip and he has to start over completely.
The exceptional detail in his work does not prevent him from filling his art with sentiment and mystery. For this, time is his ally. As soon as he feels his arm begin to tremble, he stops and puts down the knife. He will not return to the work until he is able to give the painting his full concentration again. Depending on the position of the sun's rays, the relief of each stroke of colour creates a shadow on its neighbouring stroke, creating interacting nuances. At each moment of the day, his pieces smile at their audience in a different way.
