Born in Germany, Hilde Wilms experienced her first contacts with the art world during a long stay in the south of France. She studied painting and sculpture to then leave her profession as a bank used in order to devote herself exclusively to her artistic work. "My work reflects internalized images, unconscious impressions that I collect in nature or everyday life. I paint to restore atmospheres. When I start a work, I do not know the outcome and I let myself be guided by my inspiration . When the expressed pattern is fully revealed, I continue following the given direction. In addition to acrylic paintings and pure pigments, I use various materials such as sand, fabric and paper. I often superimpose several layers of color, which I then interrupt by drawing or graphic elements. "Hilde Wilms
