Xiaoyang Galas is a Chinese artist living and working in France. His works are present in private and public collections around the world. In his paintings, Xiaoyang Galas seeks to bring together East and West by mixing techniques and calligraphy.
Xiaoyang Galas's technique is the result of a mixture of acrylic, oil, collages of fabrics, papers, and various other textures. The whole gives an impression of jumble. The artist also uses writing: Chinese, French and English characters, and the lyrics used in the Holy Bible.
Xiaoyang Galas artistically expresses the only hope of conveying a message of peace and love. Her gift is to magnify what is essential in life.
“There is so much darkness and sadness in this world, I don't want to paint the dark side anymore. I would like my art to contribute to the beauty of this world… that it brings warmth to the hearts of men… that it be a message of peace and love… For me, life is a journey with a goal, art is a game with meaning. ”
Xiaoyang Galas studied Fine Art (painting) and holds a master’s degree in Chinese art history and art criticism from the Sichuan Academy of Arts, China.
