Xiaoyang Galas is a Chinese artist living and working in France. Her works can be found in private and public collections around the world. In her paintings, Xiaoyang Galas seeks to unite East and West by mixing together techniques and calligraphy.
Xiaoyang Galas' technique is a mixture of acrylics, oils, collages of fabrics, papers, and various other textures. The whole thing gives an impression of one big medley of creative techniques. The artist also uses writing: Chinese, French and English characters, and the words used in the Holy Bible.
Xiaoyang Galas artistically expresses the one and only hope she has which is to convey a message of peace and love. Her gift is to amplify what she deems essential in life.
"There is so much darkness and sadness in this world, I don't want to paint the dark side anymore. I would like my art to contribute to the beauty of this world... to bring warmth to peoples hearts... to be a message of peace and love... For me, life is a journey with a purpose, art is a game with meaning."
Xiaoyang Galas studied Fine Art (painting) and holds a master’s degree in Chinese art history and art criticism from the Sichuan Academy of Arts, China.
