Born in Paris, MAD325 started graffiti in 1989 under the name "MAD". In 2015, the artist added 325 to his name in tribute to his grandfather imprisoned by the Nazis at Rawa-Ruska camp (stalag 325). Her painting focuses on individual and collective behaviour in social life and the fragility of these relationships, as well as the links that unite people and the events through which these links are forged and unwound: in a mixture of violence, anxiety, desire, fear of the sacred, despair, decline and the search for love.
His painting also focuses on pathologies related to transgression and the sadomasochistic conception of human relations. In form, the features and lines that cross her characters express these social phenomena structured by a relational dynamic. The crossing of lines through them is similar to the interactions determined by different social positions that manifest themselves through behaviours and cognitive mechanisms such as prejudices and stereotypes produced during our exchanges.
The transition from the patriarchal, puritanical and moralizing era, which encouraged the repression of desires, generated shame and guilt in our era, permissive and individualistic, which induces perversion, is a great source of inspiration.
