For more than 35 years, including the years of training (Fine Arts in Lyon, Decorative Arts Villa Arson Nice, Doctorate Arts Plastiques Sorbonne Paris) it is to painting that Lucile Travert has dedicated her life and work.
She acquired the skills of the profession of painting, drawing, engraving at the same time as she enriched her artistic knowledge by exploring the history of art through the prisms of literature, music, philosophy, poetry, architecture, photography, sculpture...
The question of the body, of the figure, is for her the fundamental question. She conducts research inspired by the major works of the great masters of painting such as Rembrandt, Caravaggio, Leonardo da Vinci, Rubens, Titian but also contemporaries such as Cy Twombly, Bacon, Giacometti, Alechinsky, Garouste, Anselm Kieffer... His daily work continues within the stone walls of his studio, a historic setting in the heart of the courtyard of Château de Lauris, a Luberon village nestled on a rocky spur overlooking the Durance plain in Provence.
For 20 years, Lucile Travert has regularly presented her work to an informed public at exhibitions in both emblematic and prestigious places (Abbey, Chapel, Art Centre, Galleries). She also likes to meet new eyes and make her painting accessible to everyone.
