Parashift is a diptych evoking two mythological bodies lying in the middle of their symbolic landscape. An alternative version is available in augmented reality: just look at the work with the free Artivive application installed on a smartphone. It's a mix of traditional and digital magic: the first phase is an original drawing, scanned to be augmented with digital colors and textures, then printed with archival quality ink on the beautiful textured paper, to be finished by hand with a mixture of bronze powder and acrylic varnish.

The "body" at the bottom is the moribund paradigm: agony, a concentration of resources evaporating with the death of an obsolete hierarchy, hands stiff as a corpse, and no heart on the horizon. Its last use of patriarchal power is a self-destructive eruption, dealing the final blow to a world holding on to shaky and irrelevant ideals of society, where nothing wanted to take root.

The "body" at the top is the new paradigm: it stands on a foundation of life, power and wisdom, drawing its strength from exquisite diversity and room for chaos and organic change, knowing when to cut through the possibilities. He masters the power of creation, cares, purifies and enlightens.

Jæn combines digital and traditional magic to paint, draw or sculpt hybrids of intimate and collective mythologies, leaving the often psychedelic and pop surrealist works with areas of indeterminacy, which can be freely resonated with one's own imagination. He has extensively explored the lands of creativity: street art, 3D printing, virtual and augmented reality, music, photography, animation, storytelling and research.

As an artist and illustrator, Jæn strives to create a breach in the rational mind of the viewer, and widen this door to things over which words slide, but not feelings.
