Gently approach to make the light dance and create moving shadows... Take a small step to the side and everything changes... Then another and another again. With each look, a new work! While admiring in the Toulouse sky, the ballet of starlings who also create changing paintings in a few moments, she wanted to give the name of "Murmurations" to these engraved papers. The humblest of materials, paper, has always fascinated Léa Valmain. It sometimes bears curious names, varies in thickness, velvety, format, colour... The solids and the voids, the shadow and the light that play with the notions of presence and absence are the other centres of artistic interest of this artist. With the help of surgical scalpels, she delicately cuts the paper in its thickness, creates a movement, makes lines and curves spring up without (almost!) ever piercing the sheet. She sculpts directly, without prior drawing, just guided by the emotion of a moment. The pattern that appears then is not fixed. With this Murmuration Pépite, Léa Valmain adds golden metallic leaves to create even more reflections and play of light.
