Christine Guichard creates works on paper, she plays with the bright whites of paper and the velvety blacks of ink. His recent work adds gold to his combinations of black shapes on white paper. In particular, she has created works in which the paper is embossed, it becomes itself relief, hollow and vertices, some vertices can shine, adorned with gold.
Passionate about the ink technique, she is specialized in engraving. The metal plate is not, only, a matrix that supports a drawing to be reproduced, it is, for it, already a material to be worked on that will be sculpted in relief. Another essential part of his work is done at the time of printing the plate, such as the photographer who develops his photographs to adjust contrasts, saturation, light. At that time, she searched precisely for colour, experimented with certain effects, crackling, velvety, ink viscosity, or combined different techniques on the same print (engraving on plastic, wood, linocut). Its engraving and embossing prints are unique or in limited editions and always printed on very high quality papers 100% cotton and PH neutral.
