A professional painter for forty years, Annie CASSEZ practices oil, drawing and pastel. She has exhibited in numerous exhibitions and galleries in France, Switzerland and various African countries. For several years now she has been showing her work mainly in the major international pastel exhibitions and within the Société des Beaux-Arts du Périgord. His precise and realistic technique, his lively palette on plain, mostly black backgrounds, explore the secrets of chiaroscuro. Her favourite themes are still life, fruits and vegetables and above all the character, which she stages in informal portraits, or in complex compositions where references to Art History often slip in. She also practices botanical illustration with coloured pencils. She has been teaching these disciplines for ten years in her workshop near Périgueux and runs workshops.
