Laurent BotellaRésurection

Born on June 30th 1974 in Nantes. His apprenticeship of painting began in 1989 in the workshop of Maïthé Rovino in Aussonne followed by a year at the Beaux Arts de Toulouse. The work was focused on oil painting and pastel. Charcoal and pencil work has always been the basis of his work before and after classes.

Inspired by the impressionists and the sketches of the great Italian masters, his painting is spontaneous and structured. The compositions and colors are studied in order to emphasize the subject. The unfinished treatment of the backgrounds and the effects of light direct the eye to the expressions, attitudes and emotions of the characters. His goal is to give an impression of life in his paintings.
