"I painted this pastel after long walks on the beach... Observation is one thing, but as an impressionist, I prefer to feel. This way, I can work from both photos and nature. When I make a pastel from my photos, the most important thing for me is to find the sensations experienced on the motif. This is the only way I can succeed in my work. The observation is done upstream, let us say that it is the technical part, essential but certainly not sufficient. It is for these reasons that I have called this new pastel: "Souvenir de l'océan".
